BREAKING: Central Copper Resources: Is the IPO that will disgrace AIM again on or off?

Back in last July I exposed AIM Wannabee Central Copper Resources. The team behind it had listed a company, Cradle Arc, on the AIM sewer in late 2018 which within a year saw its shares suspended pending clarification, engaged in tax evasion, traded while insolvent  and deceived investors before going bust. Surely advisers and AIM Regulation would not allow such scallywags a second chance?

Julie Meyer spotted in London as Henry Gewanter steps up action with claim against Ariane Industries

With the Maltese Police desperate to locate Julie Meyer MBE as she avoids criminal charges, with the SFO, MFSA and FCA running enquiries not to mention investigations by the tax authorities into evasion in the US, UK and Malta you could have forgiven Ms Lingerie on Expenses for going to ground. But she has been spotted in London. Quck – if you are one of the many to whom she owes money and want to serve her hurry down to the Royal Institution, Mayfair, W1S 4BS. Meyer has been spotted! Meanwhile...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: as a former tax dodger in the Isle of Man I can't say I'm shocked by the Paradise Papers

Of course when I was a crony capitalist I spent a couple of years in the Isle of Man with its progressive tax system.  That was all legit, it is called tax avoidance (legal) not tax evasion (illegal) but it is clear that the IOM facilitates a stack of illegal tax evasion. I am not shocked by the Paradise Papers revelations on this and explain why. Elsewhere there is follow on work on Totally (TLY) looking at more red flags and the vanity of sales, then coverage of Red Emperor (RMP) and P:aragon Entertainment (PEL)

BBC "Just legal" tax avoidance - the bias exposed again

Tax avoidance is legal - millions of us do it by owning an ISA. It describes legitimate ways to pay as little tax as you can do within the law. Tax evasion is avoiding paying tax by breaking the law. Simple enough? Not for John Humphreys, the grotesquely overpaid presenter of Radio 4's flagship fake news programme Today.

Austerity & Tax Avoidance - how the left does not get it: free unicorns for all

The tweet below refers to the Paradise Papers not the Panama Papers but that is not the glaring error. The error is to say that austerity is caused by tax evasion. It is wrong on so many counts.

Reasons to despise all MPs No 563 - special protection for the poor darlings

For every safe seat, and 80% of all labour and Tory seats are safe. there is a line as long as your arm of folks begging to be selected. Much though MP's bleat about their poor pay (they are in the top 2% of earners even without expenses fiddles, second jobs etc and anti social hours (outside 30 weeks holiday a year, there is no shortage of hopefuls for this cushiest of jobs. Yet the pampered bastards who perennially forget that they work for us not the other way round, always want more special treatment.

Weekly Postcard #100 - The West recruits for ISIS & Labour hypocrisy and muddle on tax evasion

Here we are. My 100th postcard on this website and I am again off to Greece in a few days from where many of these postcards have been recorded. In this issue I look at how the West acts in a way that bolsters ISIS recruitment every time we react to the latest savagery. I also look at the muddle and hypocrisy in the Labour party on the matter of tax evasion and the gutless reaction of the Conservatives to the Labour blather.

Memo to HMRC re Robert Simon Terry of Quindell

Al Capone was never prosecuted for his real crimes, it was the tax man who got him. I shall be making dam sure that for his lies and fraud Rob Terry of Quindell (QPP) does not get off so lightly. However I am equally concerned that all directors of the AIM Companies who have done deals with Equity First Holdings LLC do not try to avoid Capital gains Tax on the shares they have sold. A formal note on all of them will go to HMRC in due course but pleasure before business, let’s start with Robert Simon Terry of Quindell. This article will be sent to HMRC.

As he thinks about filling in his 2015 tax return Mr Terry might think that the £7,465,596 he received from Equities First LLC on November 5 2014 should be viewed as loan proceeds and this should be tax free. I would very much hope that Mr Terry tries that on because he will then face potential charges of tax evasion to add to his rap sheet.

Will Romney Run for President? London Gaffes Do Not matter. Tax Evasion Would

I am biased. I want the Republicans to pick Ron Paul as their Presidential nominee and for him to thrash Obama, who I despise, in November. Paul will stop all the wars, bring US troops back home, slash Government spending and repeal fascist measures like the Patriot Act. So I would love the current presumed Republican nominee Mitt Romney to come a cropper before he is formerly selected at the GOP convention in Tampa as – in policy terms – I see him as pretty much 100% aligned with Obama.

But the British reaction to his London “gaffes” makes me embarrassed to be British and not embarrassed for Mitt but rather sympathetic. However, there is another matter though where I think (and hope) he does come unstuck – his personal tax position. That is now looking serious enough to potentially derail his Presidential ambitions altogether. That is the real Romney story of the last 2 weeks

Before he arrived in London, Romney said that he wondered if the City was ready for the Games, what with the Border Security threatening to go on strike and G4S not appearing to have security under control. As it happens those are very legitimate points which the UK press had themselves had a field day with. But when Romney makes the same points it is a gaffe, twitter trends with #Romneyshambles and Fleet Street goes on the attack. It is said it is not “Diplomatic.” Maybe but it is fair comment. Is it that outrageous for a politician to tell the truth?
